About the BNZBA

The British New Zealand Business Association (BNZBA) was established in 1917 and is an independent not-for-profit membership organisation. It is a registered Incorporated Society that is overseen by an elected Board of members and it has branches in Auckland and Christchurch. It is a member of the British Chambers of Commerce Global Business Network and of the New Zealand Europe Business Council. Members vary from individuals and SME’s through to global multinationals in both countries, spanning many sectors and industries.

The BNZBA’s mission is to drive the growth in bilateral trade and investment between the two countries, creating opportunities for our members, facilitating country and industry knowledge sharing, and helping create valuable business and personal networks. This is achieved by working with the New Zealand and UK governments, our partners and our members to deliver activities and opportunities throughout the year.

Within our activities we have a number of key themes – the future of trade through optimising for our members the implementation of the Free Trade Agreement between the UK and New Zealand, sustainability including the circular economy and the progress towards Net Zero, the sharing of intellectual capital including through the mobility of people between the two countries, and how both countries are approaching the future of work.
