As New Zealand pursues economic growth and electrification, the question is no longer simply whether new energy infrastructure gets built, but how investment decisions are coordinated across the system. Discussions around generation, transmission, major energy users and infrastructure planning are increasingly shaping business investment decisions and the country's growth outlook.
Join Arup, the UK Government and BNZBA for a senior discussion exploring how New Zealand can better align energy, infrastructure and business investment to support growth.

The panel session will be moderated by Mayurie Gunatilaka, New Zealand Country Leader, Arup.and feature:

  • Joel Cook, Head of Strategy & Regulation, Transpower New Zealand
  • Dorian Devers, Chief Development and Major Projects Officer & Renewable Energy Executive, Contact Energy
  • Steven Mitchell, Head of Property South Island, Foodstuffs
  • Ben Vaughan, New Zealand Energy Leader,  Arup

The discussion will be opened by insights from leading UK energy figures, including Iain Harris, Managing Director of the Humber Energy Board, and Andrew Clark, Business Leader at Energy Systems Catapult, before exploring how greater coordination across the energy system could improve investment confidence, accelerate growth, and support better outcomes for businesses and consumers.
